New Paper: Two-fold proton coupled electron transfer of a Ta(V) aniline complex mediated by a redox active NNN pincer ligand

In this work, we demonstrate how a redox-active NNN pincer ligand can mediate coordination-induced bond weakening of aniline in a Ta(V) complex, enabling two-fold proton-coupled electron transfer. Remarkably, in both processes, the electrons are supplied by the ligand scaffold, while the metal remains in its highest oxidation state.
