Besides investigating the chemical properties and reactivities of geometrically constrained main group species we are also interested in their properties as ligands. The expansion of our pincer systems by a secondary phosphine binding site creates new PEP pincer scaffolds allowing for cooperative activation of small molecules such as dihydrogen, ammonia and carbon dioxide along the main group transition metal bond.
