Originally from Luton, George graduated from the University of Liverpool with a 1st class MChem degree. His final year project was performed under the supervision of Dr. Alexey Sergeev, where he investigated the reactivity of η4-coordinated benzene complexes towards Diels-Alder reactions through their exposed ‘alkene-like’ bonds.
As of September 2026, George has started his PhD in the Abbenseth lab studying the reactivity and structure of Bi and Sb pincer complexes in the context of catalysis.
